The battle for the Normandy beaches was brutal and hard-fought, due to the prepared defenses of the Germans, which allowed them to pre-sight their mortars, machine guns and artillery on specific beach zones. But the Allies were determined to fight their way through. Despite heavy casualties and many units pinned down by enemy fire, small groups of GI's, Tommies and Canucks launched improvised attacks against the formidable German emplacements and seized them, often at great cost.

Can your troops, who include American, British and Canadian infantry, penetrate the German Atlantic Wall, defended by Nazi infantry, elite paratroops and a German 88mm gun? You will re-fight this battle using the splendid Form Tech WWII D-Day defense work. This 4-piece Atlantic Wall Bunker and Trench System is 53 inches wide x 14 inches deep x 7 inches high. It features a central concrete artillery position with removable roof and flanking trenches for support troops. It is one of the wonders of the toy soldier world.

The trenches are floored with wood and have raised firing platforms to enable defenders to shoot over the top of the sandbagged parapets.
