This is an early Louis Marx & Co. It measures 26" X 14½" X 11½ to the top of the sign that is on the elevator shaft. From left to right, there is an outside lubrication rack. The corner of the building shows an office with products on display inside. In the middle of the building is an elevator.

It can be used to drive a 1:43 scale car onto the platform; pulled up on an "L-shaped bracket" to the roof for roof-top parking. A notch in the bracket holds the platform in place for disembarking. There is a down ramp to exit from the roof. Next to the elevator is a repair bay. It is open to allow vehicles to move in and out freely. Lastly is a wash pit. Amongst all of this, are accessories found in service stations of that era. Gasoline pumps, a lubricator pump, battery display, oil can rack, tire air pump, floor jack, toilet, an identification sign pole and three attendants in various stages of pose. I sanded, primed and painted the roof a flat grey to represent cement and the deck a satin black to look like asphalt.

Because the accessories and attendants are molded in one color, I detailed them with paint and a few decals so they would stand out. The gas pumps and pump island have pins on their bottoms to snap into holes on the deck to keep them in position. I put magnets on the bottom of others so one could position them in different areas and not have them tip over or "walk" should the station get bumped. This would be a fantastic toy for a collector of 1:43 scale vehicles to display some of their collection.

I have added a few of my own vehicles to demonstrate my point. NOTE: they are NOT included in this sale. This is great item for the "Baby Boomer" who remembered his or wanted one.
