Vintage MARX Tin Litho Service/Gas Station with1 Service Bay & Roof Parkingca 50s

This is a pressed-tin lithograph MARX Service Station with a single service bay and a manual "lift" elevator. The station rests on a rectangular base 26" X 14½" X 10½ tall to the top of the billboard sign. The lithographing depicts a perma-stone style building fitting right into your average suburban setting. Orange lettering proclaims it being a "Service Center" on the top; above a clear, curved "glass" window looking into the "office". Other signs read "Parts" and "Repairs" above its single bay.

To the left of the building, looking at the front of the station, is a working service lift. In the middle is an elevator entrance. When a car is driven onto the L-shaped lift, manual effort pulls it up the shaft to the roof. Cars going up can take advantage of the "Skyview Parking, " presumably to be enchanted by the sight of the city lights. This roof top parking, as well as the ground floor, would be a great place to show off a collection of 1:43 scale collector cars and trucks.

The ones you see in the pictures are from my personal collection and are not included. The ones that are included, have had some detailed done to them by me to keep up the realism. The last picture shows the accessories grouped together. The four plastic cars came with the station and are included.

Some of the pins on the bottom of the pieces were broken, so I added magnetic padding to keep them from "walking" should someone bump into the display. This station would make a great gift for the "Baby Boomer" car collector.
