Up for sale this time around is one of my all-time favorite Marx Playsets; from 1962 it's the Sears All State Happi-Time Fort Apache set #5962 complete as near as I can tell although the cooking fire pit has been modified to a native camp fire ring (see photo). Everything else is there including the box, instructions, Cavalry HQ (with front porch, cupola and flag), a fully intact front gate and doors, 2 blockhouses, 2 corner wall sections, 6 flat wall sections, 4 wall sections with firing platforms, 3 teepees, natives, soldiers and frontiersmen, short coat cavalry (long coats not introduced until the late 60s), horses (native and cavalry), wagons, 2 wagon drivers with whips, two pack mules with bridles (both bridles are functional but split), water well and other small fort accessories as well as native accessories. NOW MORE THAN DOUBLE ALL OF THAT with extra blockhouses, wall sections, a cabin (stabilizing bar has been replaced), more soldiers, frontiersmen and wagons plus more horses, cattle, cowboys, even a cowgirl! , more teepees and natives and more accessories (including a customized potbelly stove). I've even thrown in an extra box (a modern giant sized facsimile).
The original box is complete with new dividers and a piece of acid free board used to repair a split in the back wall. The lid is detached but both side flaps are intact and the pieces of the front flap are included (as well as two easily repairable trees if you're into fixing things up). The new box has a small 1x1 hole in the upper right corner of the top flap. Please examine the photos carefully and ask any questions before the sale ends.
