Up for sale is a vintage Marx Wagon Train play set #4788 in one of the rarest Marx Wagon Train boxes made. This HTF box is the only one that doesn't depict the pictures of the 2 main characters, Major Seth Adams and his scout Flint McCullough. This was due to the death of Ward Bond, who played the Major.

These sets either came with both figures, just Flint or neither figure at all. (This is the reason there are so many more Flint figures in circulation as opposed to that of the Major) This set is pretty much complete, and in very good, clean condition for its' age. The only piece missing is the assembly sheet.

The last picture shows a parts list taken from a Playset Magazine #42 from Nov/Dec 2008. Though missing the assembly sheet, I have added in a vintage brown oxen wagon, which did not come with this set.

This oxen wagon was designed in 1960 for play set #4805, a Sear's exclusive. The wagons are all in tip top shape with all tabs intact on the 3 canopies, and all hitches are completely intact. As the oxen wagon was added in, there are 4 cream whip drivers included as opposed to 3.

Each set of figures is complete and in very good condition, as are the Major and Flint. There are 3 complete sets of wagon accessories, the 2 red sets still are complete with their sprues. Also included is the vintage original brown bow with all 3 arrows, and the yellow Indian accessories. All 35 pieces of these accessories are included, most still attached to its's sprue. The box is very solid, just a small separation at the front left corner. This is one of the cleanest sets I have come across, really enjoyed putting it together for pictures.
