I found the date on one end tab of the box which is dated 10/08/1968. This set appears Complete with all pieces on the instruction sheet Except: The instruction sheet refers to a rear cover/cone for the small mounted spotlight which is not here. I do not know if that is an error or oversight or missing part as i cant confirm it either way. Pieces which are present are all the mechanics for the Space station tower, (The spring, both clips, clicker is installed).
12 Astronauts in Silver/Grey molding. 7 Moon Men in green. 1 Astronaut in the escape pod molded in Red, All vehicles are here with wheels installed. The pieces which are also part of the later moon base set are also here. (and not shown on instruction sheet) The instruction sheet, vinyl moon backdrop, blowmold crater piece which seems to have a line scrape across it (see image) where maybe it was pushed into the box with something stuck. Those familiar with the moon base set will recognize the yellow dome which has a flagpole attached. In this set, the yellow dome has no hole so I do not believe a tin flag was included. The box is in fair condition only as there is a hole in the front lower center and half the end tab has been torn off. The entire tab is included so this piece could be repaired.
