Tom Corbett Space Academy play set from Marx in the 1950s-60s. Tin litho command center, 12 in. Center tower is 11 in.

Some pitting and minor rust on the building. Included are 18 beige figures, 20 yellow figures and 17 gray figures. There are 13 clear plastic space helmets. There are 9 interlocking metal wall pieces, 9 x 3 1/2 in.

Plus the front gate with swinging doors and "Tom Corbett Space Academy" printed above the doors. This piece measures 9 in. Wide and 5 1/2 in.

Most accessory parts are plastic. Many parts are included but the set is not complete and a few pieces have been repaired or are broken. They are included as they may still be of some use in setting up the playset. The dark blue space vehicle is 5 3/4 in. Long and 3 1/4 in. One axle and wheels is missing, as is the plastic canopy that would go over the driver seated in the vehicle. The set was played with and shows wear but is a survivor of a bygone era.
