Marx Project Mercury Cape Canaveral Playset #4524 (1962)

This MARX Project Mercury Cape Canaveral full playset #4524 is a rare find for collectors and space enthusiasts alike. Condition and contents: This fine playset displays very nicely. Nearly complete, in 4x14.25x 27original box.

Overall nice condition and some parts very fine. Contents featured includes tin lithographic Cape Canaveral building and all rooftop accessories, 4 light poles, 2 rocket firing gantries (scaffold, framework, spring, base) and4 launch rockets, 1 companion vertical rocket launcher and 3 rocket missiles, 1 rescue helicopter complete except right wheel/ground support only and missing left wheel/ground support and 3. Wheel, 1 complete space capsule and astronaut, 1 flying saucer (some cracking) with catapult (all components), 13 figures ground crew, original instructions. Missing from original items list.

Fence pieces (please refer to the instructions sheet 2). I don't recall the number of fence pieces in the original set (perhaps 4 or 6). Also missing are 2 of the 3 blue flying saucers that were in the original set (only 1 is included). Also missing 1 "upright support-shaft-spring-ejector/trigger unit". Regarding that, you'll see in the photo number 4 with the white rockets only 1 "upright support-shaft-spring-ejector/trigger unit" (the 2nd one is not here) and also showing only one is photo number 5 (photos 4 and 5 go together). Regarding the blue vertical rocket launcher, there is only 1 together with 3 blue-white rockets (with different head styles), which I believe is the correct number from the original set. Also, regarding the helicopter, there are blue wheels (also called ground supports) and I only have the front right one shown in the photo (the front left and rear supports are missing).
