MARX - CENTENNIAL BATTLE OF THE BLUE & GRAY. This exciting lot contains the Marx CENTENNIAL Battle of the Blue & Gray Play Set. This was the SECOND LARGEST Civil War set produced by Marx, and it was available from 1961 to 1962. This Very Good set, is in a Fair to Good Box with reproduction dividers. Set includes ALL figures for each side, ALL Hard Plastic accessories, All horses, All correct cannons, and is truly an attractive set when displayed. Set is complete EXCEPT for instructions.

All figures are matching, in correct poses, and in Very Good condition! Included in this set are. 1st series Confederates - Correct Poses and Color Match - light/medium gray. 16 - Medical/Centennial Confederate Figures - Correct Poses and Color Match - light/medium gray. 04 - Confederate riders - 02 with Kepi, 02 Officers - medium/dark gray.

48 - 1st Series Union - Correct Poses and Color Match - light powder blue. 06 - Union riders - 02 with Kepi, 02 Officers, 01 - Seated Limber Driver Calling, and 01 - Rider w/whip - medium powder blue. Lee, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant - Matching Cream SP. 01 - Silver HP Limber.

There is one extension and buffer from hitch center post missing. 01 - Silver HP Seat with both Handles. 01 - Silver HP Limber Extension is in excellent condition. 01 - Silver HP Firing Caisson Cannon - with one of two hooks present. HP Shell-firing 12 Pound Cannon w/Spring. 01 - Black HP Mortar with Plunger and Ramrod. Mortar has spring and trigger. Lock trigger, load ball, aim, and fire. 04 - Black HP Mortar Cannon Ball.

08 - Cavalry horses - 02 - cream, 02 - tan, 02 - sorrel, and 02 - black. 02 - Wagon Horses - 02 - cream and 02 - brown. 01 - Dead horse in cream SP with reins.

Box is in Good condition for 60 year old cardboard box and contains reproduction cardboard dividers. Box has typical storage wear and repairs to box inside. Box has some minor lithograph loss here and there. There is wear and tear to lid flaps. EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS INCLUDED - LOOK AT PICTURES CAREFULLY AS THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE!!!!

RARELY DO YOU SEE A PLAY SET THIS ORIGINAL and COMPLETE. ALL FIGURES ARE ORIGINAL AND ACCOUNTED FOR - MAYBE THERE ARE ONE OR TWO SHORT BAYONETS - NO BROKEN FIGURES - Maybe you can see something I missed, but these ORIGINAL Figures are in Very Good condition in an ORIGINAL BOX.

It is normal for some of these figures to have slightly bent bayonets or rifles, as long as the figure is complete. These figures are all super nice, super clean, and in nice colors.

Truly a beautiful set when displayed! The Accessory Set is split in the correct colors and all accessories are original Marx with the exception of black weapons sprue.

While this set is in Very Good condition, it is 50-60 years old, and some pieces will have typical play wear. If you have several items, hold up paying until you are finished shopping, and wait for my invoice.
