MARX - CENTENNIAL BATTLE OF THE BLUE & GRAY. This exciting lot contains the Marx Centennial Battle of the Blue & Gray Play Set. This was a Sear's exclusive and second largest Civil War set produced by Marx.

It was available from 1961 to 1962. This Very Good set, is in an ORIGINAL and REPAIRED BOX, should be complete EXCEPT for small Marx pistol and instructions. All figures are matching, in correct poses, and in Very Good condition! Included in this set are.

1st series Confederates - Correct Poses and Color Match - light/medium gray. 16 - Medical/Centennial Confederate Figures - Correct Poses and Color Match - light/medium gray. 04 - Confederate riders - 02 with Kepi, 02 Officers - light/medium gray.

48 - 1st Series Union - Correct Poses and Color Match - light powder blue. 06 - Union riders - 02 with Kepi, 02 Officers, 01 - Seated Limber Driver Calling, and 01 - Rider w/whip - light powder blue. Lee, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S.

Grant - Matching Creme SP. 01 - Silver HP Limber, Damage to Hitch - Missing one side of hitch with bracket where horses connect and connection brackets. 01 - Silver HP Extension Hitech - missing connector on one side of Extension that snaps into horse. 01 - Silver HP Seat - missing Handles.

01 - Silver HP Firing Caisson Cannon - missing one hook on base. HP Shell-firing 12 Pound Cannon w/Spring. 01 - Black HP Spring Loaded Mortar with plunger and ramrod. Mortar has spring, but is missing trigger.

08 - Cavalry horses - 02 - creme, 02 - brown, 02 - sorrel, and 02 - black. 06 - Wagon Horses - 02 - creme and 02 - brown. 01 - Dead horse in creme - dead horse has a bit of red tint on underside from old blood ink?

01 - Tin Glossy Lithograph 3-sided front, 01 - gray lithograph roof with 02/tin chimneys. 01 - Reproduction rear wire brace. 01 - White HP porch. Porch has both snaps on porch top that snap into roof, and one male attachment intact that snaps through front wall.

01 - HP Burnside Bridge in Gray with Black Swirls. 02 - Gray HP with black swirl Rock Stacks. 01 - Destroyed Mansion in Tan HP. 01 - Redoubt in Tan HP. 01 - Exploding Sand Bag Emplacement - complete with spring loaded device and target trigger - It works very well.

01 - US Tin Flag. 01 - Stars and Bars Tin Flag. 02 - Gray HP flagpoles with bases. EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS INCLUDED - LOOK AT PICTURES CAREFULLY AS THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE!!!! RARELY DO YOU SEE A PLAY SET THIS COMPLETE. ALL FIGURES ARE ACCOUNTED FOR - INCLUDING THE FLAG BEARERS FOR EACH SIDE - ONE OR TWO SHORT BAYONETS or CHEWED BATONETS.

NO BROKEN FIGURES - Maybe you can see something I missed, but these ORIGINAL and Original Figures are in Very Good condition in an ORIGINAL BOX. It is normal for some of these figures to have slightly bent bayonets or rifles, as long as the figure is complete. Confederates are nice light gray and Union are in a nice flat blue! The Accessory Set is split in the correct colors and all accessories are original Marx, but there is a slight color variation in a couple of pieces that were missing, and replaced. ORIGINAL PLAY SET BOX does have RE-ATTACHED BOX LID.

Lid was attached back to box base with cardboard hinge. Box has some typical storage wear, but no other repairs.

Box is still sturdy, in serviceable condition, and it displays nicely as well. While this set is in Very Good condition, it is 50-60 years old, and some pieces will have typical play wear.
