This vintage MARX FORT APACHE set from 1968 comes in a carry all action tin case (#4685) and includes a plethora of plastic action figures and accessories. In terms of the condition of the Fort, view the many photos to evaluate for yourself. Photos do show scratches on the metal surfaces and a bit of bowing?? On the sides when the fort is in its closed position.
Still, on the whole, I would say the fort is in pretty good condition for its age. One item of note: This fort has a metal Headquarters and Stable building, whereas some other forts in this collection had plastic buildings that did not hold up as well. Also, FYI, the gates seem to swing open and closed well enough.
In terms of the plastic action figures and accessories that come with the fort, I believe this carry-all has most of the items it originally came with, but not all. So, I'll list below what items are included. __Two block towers that attach to the fort (block towers each comprised of two pieces that connect together). __One red teepee (I don't think this was actually the original teepee that came with the fort, but it looks similar). __One water well (damaged; incomplete). __One axe in tree trunk. __Four Cavalry soldiers in various poses.__14 soldiers in various poses. __11 indians in various poses. Plus, one pig, one dog and one small bended tree, which I'm really not sure came with the set but they seem to fit with the theme. I feel the higher price is justified by the generally better condition of the fort and having most of the original pieces.
So, if someone really wants it great, but if not no worries.
