Marx Prehistoric Dinosaur Playset original #3398 circa 1963

This is the grand daddy of all Marx Prehistoric Dinosaur Playsets. This is the original 1963 #3398 Prehistoric Playset (not to be confused with the 1971 version). This has a solid box with the T-rex emerging from the concentric circle time tunnel. The box has a few pin holes as pictured but its structurally sound and clean and bright.

This classic set came with the 3 piece mountain, two sets of cavemen, plants and fronds as well as dinosaurs as follows: one revised mold groups, the small mold group, the medium mold group and the second series monsters and mammals. The medium mold group is the rare chocolate milk brown pieces however two of them (pictured) have mold pin holes. To some this is a distraction while to others its something highly desired as mis-molds are rarer than rare and sought after by many. What is missing from the set is the booklet and mountain pins. All in all its a great set with solid box and tons of dinosaurs.
