MARX BATTLE OF THE BLUE & GRAY. HAPPITIME - CENTENNIAL PLAY SET. This exciting lot contains the 1961 Marx Sears Happitime Centennial Battle of the Blue & Gray Play Set. This set is numbered 5929, and it was available only for 1961 and 1962 and was contained in this unique Centennial Box.

This set is in Very Good condition and is in a repaired, but sturdy box. This set should be complete EXCEPT for small Marx Civil War cap-firing pistol.

Included in this 250 piece set are: 48 - 1st series Confederates, 16 - Medical/Centennial Confederate figures, 04 - Confederate riders, 48 - 1st series Union, 04 - Union riders, 01 - seated Union calling, 01 - riding Union w/whip, 01 - firing silver caisson cannon, 01 - silver caisson w/seat (seat is missing one seat handle), 01 - silver HP hitch extension (extension connecting circle is partially broken), 08 - cavalry horses in correct colors (2 each in creme, tan, brown, and black), 04 - harness horses for caisson and extension (2 each in creme and brown), 01 - dead horse in creme, 01 - grey HP shell-firing cannon w/spring, 01 - black HP firing mortar with plunger, ramrod, and 04 cannon balls, 01 - Tan Large Campaign Tent, 03 - Tan Pup Tents, 01 - Tan cot, 02 - green SP A-line trees, 01 - gray Burnside Bridge with black swirls, 02 - rock stacks (1 stack has small piece missing along bottom edge), 01 - exploding sandbag bunker (missing mechanism and trigger sign), 01 - Grey Dead Tree, 02 - Grey SP stumps, 24 - accessories in gray and tan, 26 - black SP small sprue items, 04 - creme character figures, 01 - gloss tin lithograph mansion with roof, both chimneys, and rear support wire, 01 - off-white HP portico (one top end section has a broken piece missing), 01 - US Tin Flag, 01 - Stars and Bars Tin Flag, 02 - HP flagpoles with bases, and REPRODUCTION Instructions. ALL FIGURES ARE ACCOUNTED FOR, INCLUDING THE 3 FLAG BEARERS FOR EACH SIDE - NOT SHORT BAYONETS - NO BROKEN FIGURES! There are a few Union figures with slight color variation. One Confederate Flag Bearer is a little darker than rest of figures. ALL FIGURES ARE VINTAGE MARX!

I forgot to include the rock stacks in photos, but they are in this set as per this Description! ORIGINAL PLAY SET BOX has lid that has been re-attached to the box with interior cardboard hinge.

There is some old cello and packing tape here and there on box exterior. For a 50-60 year old cardboard box, this Box is clean, sturdy, and displays very well indeed!
