MARX - BATTLE OF THE BLUE & GRAY. This exciting lot contains the Marx Battle of the Blue & Gray Play Set. Yes, this is the set with the Falling Horse and Rider, AND a set of Centennial Figures for both Union and Confederates.

This Civil War set produced by Marx, and it was available from 1962 to 1964, and the last of the Centennial sets. This is one of the few sets that did not contain the caisson and its cannon. This Very Good set, is in a Fair Box with original instructions. Set includes ALL figures for each side, ALL Hard Plastic accessories, All horses, All correct cannons, and is truly an attractive set when displayed. Included in this set are.

1st series Confederates - Correct Poses and Color Match - light/medium gray (Flag Bearer has repaired flag). 16 - Medical/Centennial Confederate Figures - Correct Poses and Color Match - medium gray. 02 - Confederate riders with Kepi hat - medium gray.

01 - Original Two-sided Instruction Sheet in black printing. Box is in Fair condition for 60 year old cardboard box. Box has typical storage wear, including old tape repairs; some repairs to inside of box. There is partial tear along rear of lid along seam.

Part of the front closing tab is missing and has been repaired. Dividers have been partially repaired/replaced. Box has some minor lithograph loss here and there. EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS INCLUDED - LOOK AT PICTURES CAREFULLY AS THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE!!!!

RARELY DO YOU SEE A PLAY SET THIS ORIGINAL and COMPLETE. ALL FIGURES ARE ORIGINAL MARX AND ACCOUNTED FOR - MAYBE THERE ARE ONE OR TWO SHORT BAYONETS - NO BROKEN FIGURES - Maybe you can see something I missed, but these ORIGINAL Figures are in Very Good condition in an ORIGINAL BOX. This is one of the rare Blue & Gray sets that did NOT contain a Caisson and Firing cannon. Please contact me about additional pieces to combine with this item. When found, this set was mostly complete, and I did carefully match any original figure or missing accessory as closely as I could to the original set to complete it.

The Confederate flag bearer has repaired flag. It is normal for some of these figures to have slightly bent bayonets or rifles, as long as the figure is complete.

These figures are all super nice, super clean, and in nice colors. Truly a beautiful set when displayed! The instructions do have some wear along folds, but these are original 60 year old instructions sheet. While this set is in Very Good condition, it is 50-60 years old, and some pieces will have typical play wear. If you have several items, hold up paying until you are finished shopping, and wait for my invoice.
