1959 Marx Ben Hur Two Swords, Scabbards & Shields Toy Playset Mint in Box

View my other auctions for many other toys being listed. This is a completely unused, near Mint-in-Box set that looks as shiny and good as the day it was new! Imagine being a young child in 1959 when the dramatic Ben Hur movie came out.

You would have this great double set to dress up as gladiators and duel your friends! The shields measure 12.5 in diameter and are beautifully lithographed and curved tin with nice decoration and large BEN HUR wording at the top. They are made of heavy gauge tin, have a rolled edge around the outside, and a sturdy metal grip handle on the back.

18 long and are made of a very heavy sturdy plastic with nicely designed handles. The scabbards are very beautifully decorated lithographed tin with plastic loop belt straps on the backsides to strap to your belt! This is a great set that is hard to find in such good condition! All contained in the original box which is also in beautiful condition and still has the Marx sealing top on the top flaps! This set was old store stock.

CONDITION: This BEN HUR dueling gladiator playset is completely original and unused. The coloring is still as bright as the day it was issued. There is no damage to any of the pieces, just some very light scratching from storage in the box, and some light alligatoring of the paint around the Marx logo on one side of one scabbard. The heavy cardboard original box has been opened at the top but it still very solid and square as shown, and still has the cardboard separator between the shields.
