1952 Marx brand Roy Rogers Mineral City western town playset made of tin litho is in wonderful condition and comes with approximately three dozen accessories and figures. The town includes the post office, barbershop, Fargo Express, bank, and the Silver Dollar Music Hall and hotel. The accessories include cowboy figures, a woman carrying a basket, two men having a gunfight, a prisoner with his hands in the air, etc; also furniture, one horse, a couple pine trees and cacti, five saddles. The interiors of the rooms are paint decorated with carpets, curtains, a safe in the bank, etc. Roy Rogers was the iconic western hero of the 50s and beyond.
His merchandise made popular gifts for boys and girls especially for Christmas. Today this set would be a fantastic addition to any Roy Rogers collection.
This 68 year old playset still has bright colors with no fading, and no obvious scratching; however, the interior partition between the Fargo Express and Barber Shop is missing. The area along the word hotel has a long but shallow dent and there is a very small dent in the underneath back edge (see photos). The figures and accessories are in very good shape except for the street lamp, a table, and the coat rack (see photos). The item "1952 Marx Roy Rogers Mineral City Tin Litho Western Town & Access.
